Personal Fitness Trainer

Posted April 16, 2015

Part time position: flexible hours and schedules available, applicants must offer a minimum of 6 hours availability per week

Education Requirement: Completed University degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education or other exercise science degree. NAIT PFT graduates will be considered. Applicants also require a National Level Personal Training Certification such as CSEP PT or like accreditation.

Redefining Eve’s personal fitness trainers are among the best educated and well respected trainers in Edmonton. We believe in teaching corrective exercises, training movement mechanics, and offering our clients highly customized programs. In other words, our personal trainers are experts that understand the role that posture, muscle imbalances,  joint integrity, and muscle recruitment patterns play in designing effective exercise programs.

At Redefining Eve our trainers must be true ambassadors for the profession of personal fitness training. To be a successful candidate, you must place a high value on health, have a client-centric attitude towards your work and a humble, reflective outlook on your own abilities.

Experience as a personal fitness trainer is an asset, but not the only consideration – in fact, not all fitness experience is of value to our organization. We’re not interested in providing body building programs or taking a punitive ‘go hard or go home’ attitude towards our clients. That kind of fitness experience is best left at the door.

We are looking for the right people for our team and want to stress that some of the best candidates are not available for full time work. We have had a lot of success with individuals working part time for us while they pursue a masters degree in physiotherapy, health promotion or exercise physiology, for example. We most value education, attitude and a passion for fitness.

Interested applicants should submit their resume (including a minimum of two workplace or educational references) together with a cover letter to info@redefiningeve.com – we’ll acknowledge receipt of your application within 48 hours. Successful applicants will be offered an interview within 4 business days of their application.
